On Tuesday 2nd April, a group of Year 11 Balshaw’s students, accompanied by Mr Melling and Mrs Seedall, visited the Academy for Skills and Knowledge at the BAE Systems site at Samlesbury, Lancashire.
Well, what a super day, our Spring Fair and Family Fun Day was and what amazing sunny weather! We are so very lucky to have wonderful staff, students, patrons, volunteers and supporters who give up their time to make this day so much fun.
On Monday 20th May, Mr Mort and Miss Lockhart took the train to London to visit Microsoft’s Paddington offices with eight Year 8 girls for an event called DigiGirlz. The event is aimed at girls to inspire them to pursue their dream with STEM.

Dear Parents/Carers I am writing to you to highlight a concern that many children are already aware of. Many children in school have been talking about or making reference to the 'MOMO Challenge.' This is something that is in the media at the moment and parents need to be aware so that we can all work together to keep children safe on devices.
At the start of half term Mrs McCutcheon, Mrs Holden, Mr Mort and Mrs Thomasson took 39 students from Years 9 – 11 to Iceland.
