Mr. Bob Fishwick called the school to donate his father's Victor Ludorum Cup and various items to the archive. Bob sent a short biography of his father to add detail of his life.

John Fishwick had been Head Boy in 1934, only the fourth of the new school, and he was also great friends with Peter Granville Vause, the 1932 Head Boy and he often talked about him to his son Bob. Peter Vause played professional soccer for Blackburn/Blackpool/Rochdale in the years before the war. John Fishwick won the Victor Ludorum Trophy three times from 1933 - 1935, a feat for which he was rewarded with the permanent presentation of the Victor Ludorum Trophy engraved to him. His prowess in sport is shown by his Balshaw's School Colours Badge showing he played Football, Rugby, Athletics and Cricket for the School!

Bob also sent a photo of his father outside 10 Stannifields Lane, Leyland – he was about 14 years old and so at Balshaw's at the time.
