On Monday 27th January the school choir were honored to represent the school at the Leyland Civic Centre for their Holocaust Memorial Service.

Local schools Walton le Dale High School, Penwortham Priory Academy, Lostock Hall Academy, St Mary's Catholic High School, Balshaw's Church Of England High School and Brownedge St Mary's High School took part in the poignant service that marked Holocaust Memorial Day. 

Our schools were asked to light a candle and deliver a speech recognising the lives lost due to genocide throughout history. 

Our choir was also asked to open and close the ceremony and we sang 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and 'Sing'. We heard readings and songs from other schools as well as seeing our head boy from last year Charlie representing Runshaw College and reading out the life story of Kemal Pervanic.

The service was thought provoking and moving and we were grateful to take part in such an important event.
