Beth A, in Year 8, is a really is a dedicated swimming superstar and has taken part in three county swimming competitions already this year and won lots of medals!

All the competitions were all at Wavertree Leisure Centre in Liverpool, on 28th and 29th of January and 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th of February, with an incredibly early start of 7am!

 You can read more about Beth’s busy weekends in her reports below:

At the first weekend of the county’s competition, I swam in five races;

  • the 200m backstroke - I came 11th out of 12th (I am not a backstroke swimmer!)

  • the 400M front crawl - which I won with a time of 4:58.11

All these races took place on the Saturday!

On the Sunday morning I swam in the following race;

  • the 100M butterfly - I got into the finals and swam the fastest of the two with a time of 1:18.18 putting me in 5th position

On the Sunday afternoon I swam in the following race;

Saturday was a hard day as I had four races consisting of the following;

On the Sunday, I swam in two races as follows;

  • 100M front crawl - which I won in 1:05.26 and the top 5 in the final were separated by 0.5 of a second.
  • 100M breaststroke - I came 3rd with a time of 1:22.81 after qualifying in 5th place for the final meaning I moved up 2 places

On the third weekend, I swam in four races;

On the Saturday morning, I did 2 races:

  • 1500M front crawl - I came 2nd in a time of 19:49.76
