On Tuesday 7th May, our Year 11 boys' football team produced an unbelievable fighting spirit in the Lancashire County Cup football final.

After going 1 - 0 down against Ribblesdale High School, they fought back in the second half and deservedly got themselves back in the game before taking the lead in the last 10 minutes. They managed to see the game out to be crowned champions of LANCASHIRE!

Noah P and James B were our goal scorers, so well done to them both and to the whole team for their dedication, work ethic and skills.

The road to the cup final was:

  • Round 1 - Bye
  • Round 2 - Balshaw’s 3-0 Carr Hill
  • Round 3 - All Hallows 0-3 Balshaw’s
  • Quarter-final - Accrington Academy 1-4 Balshaw’s
  • Semi-final - Balshaw’s 3-1 Archbishop Temple

This is a truly great achievement for the boys and it was a fantastic occasion for them, their families and the school. The last time our Year 11 team won the Lancashire Cup was in 2008!
