GCHQ's National Language Competition

Congratulations to our Year 9 students who took part in GCHQ's National Language Competition.

This was a week-long event from the 7th till the 11th of November 2022 aimed at Year 9 students across the UK. It involved teams of up to 4 students working together to tackle a variety of fun, immersive, language-themed challenges hosted on a virtual platform. 

The teams worked hard at various times during that week (for example lunchtimes, before or after school) to have a go at the puzzles on the platform. 

There was a range of language-related puzzles, ranging from easy to difficult. The puzzles were made up of European languages, languages less commonly taught in schools and even made-up languages! 

The level of skill and perseverance needed to complete these challenges was high and we are very proud of the amount of effort and dedication shown.
