Spring Fair and Family Fun Day 2018

25 May 2018

Well, what a great day, our Spring Fair and Family Fun Day was!

We are very proud of our annual event and it wouldn’t be possible without the support of all our staff, patrons, volunteers, students, organisations, parents and all our visitors. We owe you all a huge thanks you as this year we raised a most amazing £4500 and we couldn’t do that without all the wonderful support and generous donations that we receive.

We started with the grand opening at 11am by the Mayor and Mayoress. Our retiring head girl, Teri Williams and retiring head boy, Adam Butler accompanied them along with our future head girl, Jessica Heath and future head boy, Benjamin Fry.

One of our best compliments is that we have many things on that are free to enjoy including the following: The Lancashire Wallopers, Balshaw’s dance team display, Leyland RAF cadets, Leyland Morris Men, RSPB, Northwest reptiles, Porsche owners display club, Waitrose tractor, LCC fostering, the local fire engine and staff. We have the added bonus that your ticket also includes a free raffle entry with the chance to win some great prizes like this year, one of our prizes smart tv up for grabs. We also had a range of fabulous stalls in the main hall along with the wonderful bottle, gift and chocolate tombolas, which are always so very popular!

We are extremely proud of our music department and their wonderful talented students who confidently put on superb entertainment throughout the day. We thank the Balshaw’s Rock School, Will Pike, Amy Walker, Lilly Tarmey, Maddy Carpenter, Chloe Bamber along with former students Abbi Moore and Nathan Clarke. Thank you to Mrs Atkinson-Brown and Mr Turner for making sure the very busy music event ran so smoothly.

It was great to see everyone having so much fun on the rides and activity stalls. There was a constant queue for the giant inflatable slide. The ‘Rodeo’ was a favourite too with people returning to try and beat the bull! You could go on the RAF cadets flight simulator for free.

There was amazing array of food and drink on offer throughout the day too from tasty burgers and pizzas to scrumptious crepes from Daisy Catering.

We hope our fair will continue to grow in success and support annually and very much look forward to seeing you all again next year on Saturday 11th May 2019!
