Balshaw's Triumph at the BAE Systems 'Make it Challenge'
10 February 2016
Sixteen local schools from across Lancashire participated in the BAE Systems 'Make it Challenge' at Ribby Hall Village nr Kirkham.
Each team was tasked with setting up their own mini-manufacturing company and creating an unmanned rescue and emergency vehicle for use in a range of different situations.
Teams had to find solutions for a variety of problems and were awarded marks for their solutions and teamwork skills.
At the end of the day all the teams gave a two minute timed presentation to some of the top managers at BAE Systems and were then questioned over their choices and decisions.
Fortunately for Balshaw's our Year 9 students didn't lose their cool and came away with first prize and received the 2016 North West trophy.
They will now go on to represent the School in the Northern final in September 2016.
The team of Students were asked to write a blog about their experience and you can read that here.
