Perfect Athlete STEM Week
19 July 2014
On June 16th, 15 year 7 and 8 pupils took part in a week of after school STEM activities based on Athletics.
On Monday, pupils commenced the week in Science looking at the effects of sports drinks on performance.
Tuesday saw the turn of Technology, where pupils designed and made javelins and tested their performance to find the best design.
On Wednesday, pupils carried out activities in PE and graphed their performances to show any changes.
The week was finished off by a Mathematics session on the Thursday, where pupils took part in sprints and shuttle runs and worked out their averages and range of times and decided who was the Perfect Athlete.
Pupils had lots of fun learning about STEM within sport and gave very positive feedback. Well done to everyone who was involved!
