As part of our Science and Engineering week we had some visitors at Balshaw’s!
High flying visit to Balshaw’s organised by Mrs Wilson
In years nine, ten and eleven, students at Balshaw’s Church of England High School learn about the Holocaust. During the Holocaust eleven million people were killed, of which six million were Jewish people.
On Monday 2nd February, a large number of students from Balshaw’s Church of England High School went on a trip to watch a live performance of A View from the Bridge at the Bolton Octagon Theatre. The play, written by Arthur Miller, focuses mainly around the story of a married couple and their niece, as well as the two Italian immigrants that they take into their home.
Some of our Pupils were lucky enough to go along and watch a Thunder Netball game in Manchester. They met some of their players too.
In December 2014 there was a Minisquash event held for local Primary Schools.
Olivia Cooke is a very talented young footballer. She started playing for Preston North at the age of 10 and then moved on to Blackburn Rovers Academy.
The Faitrade/ Eco group decided this year they could help make everyone in school aware of Fairtrade and support Rock FM’s Cash 4 Kids appeal.
There was an exciting line up of events to inspire in this year’s STEM week at Balshaw’s.
