An unbelievable performance from our Year 10 boys has put them through to the quarter finals of the Lancashire County Cup. They travelled over to the other side of Clitheroe to play Ribblesdale High School who were an extremely strong side with some outstanding players. Ribblesdale were clearly the stronger team and went 1 - 0 up after 5 minutes. It was down to the Balshaw's team to keep their composure and defend as a team to prevent going further behind. We made it to half time 1 - 0 down.

We talked at half time about maintaining our discipline and about preventing Ribblesdale from getting further ahead, and our boys worked so hard to do that. With 15 minutes to go Balshaw's managed to score on the counter-attack to make it 1-1 (James B).

Balshaws continued to defend well and the game went to extra time. In extra time Balshaw's started the better team and Josh R was able to counter on a defensive mistake to put Balshaw's ahead 2-1 in extra time. It was then a case of nervously defending until the final whistle which they did to secure the win!!

A fantastic performance and well-deserved win from the Balshaw's boys! Finlay, Sam, Beau, Matthew, Noah, James, Will, Josh, Harvey, Finley, Rhys, Ethan.
