Students visited the Globe Theatre and were treated to a private tour which included seeing the stage from all angles and hearing about how the theatre was regarded as a rather risque profession in Shakespeare's day. They then saw a production of 'Hadestown' at the National Theatre. This was a musical retelling of the myth of Eurydice and Orpheus . It was an enthralling performance and greatly enjoyed by all. The spectacular views of the Waterloo sunset from National's upper balcony were spectacular. On the return walk to the station they called in to look at the ice rink at Somerset house and took photos by the Christmas tree. Mrs Whittam's Fitbit recorded 23000 steps on the day and that they had walked over nine miles. It was the first time a number of students had visited the capital and they now can't wait to visit it again after having such a wonderful day.
