Alex Moore Takes Part in the National County Tennis Finals
16 May 2016
Alex Moore, in Year 8, is a member of the Lancashire U14s boys’ tennis team and they took part in the recent National County Tennis finals at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.
Alex and the rest of the team travelled to Nottingham on Thursday 12th May 2016 and took part in a three day competition for the top 8 qualifying teams from over 43 counties.
Lancashire had recently qualified for the finals having beaten Durham & Cleveland, East of Scotland and Essex at Birchwood Tennis Centre and Warrington.
The team reached the final on Sunday having defeated Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire and Kent in keenly fought matches.
Sadly, in the final, they were beaten by a very strong Surrey team and came home as runners-up.
A great team effort and commitment was shown by the 5 boys who represented Lancashire throughout the competition.
Well done Alex – we are proud of you.
Thank you to Mr Moore for the information.
