Judo Success for Adam Butler

4 November 2014

Adam Butler in Year 8 has had some fantastic success recently in Judo.

Adam has been an active Jodoka since age 8 and has won 2 North West 4 counties/Lancashire trophies in competition in his age/weight in 2011 and again this year, along with various other local events.

He won against strong opposition from around the region this year winning all his fights with Ippon – he is now preparing for the British Schools Qualification event at St Helens on 16th November and the British Nationals on December 7th. The nationals are a big step up and will be good experience for him in fighting other Judoka from around the country and he is very realistic about his likely prospects.

Adam attends Shadsworth/Beach clubs in Blackburn twice a week and will be attending the larger SKK club in Newton-Le-Willows on a more regular basis to try and further develop himself with some excellent regional and national coaches.

Keep up the good work Adam and hopefully one day you may go on and represent Team GB! Well done!
