The team of Mathematics teachers at Balshaw’s Church of England High School will provide all students with the knowledge, skills and understanding to enable them to reach a level in Mathematics appropriate to their ability.

Students will be adequately equipped to meet the Mathematical challenges in the world of life, work and leisure, whilst at the same time developing their appreciation and enjoyment of Mathematics itself.

External Resources

Students can use the following external resources to support them with their Mathematics. Usernames and passwords will be given to them by their teacher.

Key Stage 3

In the KS3 curriculum (Years 7-9) all students have 7×60 minute lessons over two weeks. They will get one piece of homework each week. All students follow the same core curriculum but it is tailored to meet their current level of understanding and to enable them to make progress. Students will follow either the foundation, secure or extending pathway. Students are placed into the 7 or 8 sets dependant on KS2 scores, CAT scores, teacher assessment and on-going tests and APP tasks in lessons.
