Thank you for visiting our website, which we hope will tell you what you need to know about our school.
Founded in 1782 we are proud of our 230 years of aiming at and achieving excellence. Richard Balshaw had a vision of the school as fully inclusive and educating the whole child and we have continued to do this despite changing ideas and trends in Education.
Balshaw’s has an outstanding staff and extremely supportive parents and governors who work together to ensure the best possible education for each individual student, enabling them to grow in a Christian environment and utilise their talents and skills whilst maturing in an orderly, disciplined environment.
We recognise the uniqueness of each one of us and the part we have to play in continuing to maintain the ethos of Balshaw’s.
Every department has something to offer in enriching our school and we would be delighted to welcome you at any time to show you around the school.
Our high expectations of each other ensures success year on year in both the measurable, like exam results and the immeasurable like warmth, commitment, citizenship and we like to live out our school motto “non sibi sed aliis” not for ourselves but for others.
An outstanding past, an outstanding present and an outstanding future.
