Balshaw’s Church of England High School

Balshaw's Association PTFA

All parents are automatically members of the Balshaw’s Association PTFA, which exists to promote co- operation between home and school and, among other purposes, to stimulate an interest in all matters relating to education. It is hoped that parents will take a full part in all the activities of the Association, which supports the work done by the school. From time to time voluntary contributions are requested to meet the essential costs of educational visits and activities.

The Balshaw’s Association PTFA has an ongoing programme of activities including quizzes, treasure hunts, promises auction, bingo, and have an important role in supporting school events such as the annual Family Fun Day and Spring Fair.

The role of the Association is important, not only as a fundraiser, but also as a chance for parents, teachers, governors and students to work together for the good of the school.

A “Welcome Evening” is always hosted for new parents to meet socially with each other and the staff. The funds raised by the Association help to enhance facilities in school; in recent years the committee has raised money for the minibus and money towards 3G pitch.
